Capital Business Solutions recently helped out the staff of Community Care of Western North Carolina with their Abila MIP Fund Accounting (formerly Sage MIP) software.

Working with Peggy Williams – Finance Director and Bruce Riesen – Staff Accountant, Capital Business Solutions provided various consulting and training services including the setup and configuration of the Accounts Receivable Billing and Advanced Security modules plus an initial End User training for both. In addition to those modules CBS will also be conducting a follow up training session for DrillPoint Reports – an Excel Based Report Writing Software that integrates with Abila MIP Fund Accounting.

Community Care of Western North Carolina is a non-profit, community-based health care delivery system for Medicaid recipients that is organized and operated by community partners. Community Care of Western North Carolina was established in 1998 as one of 14 Community Care of North Carolina networks serving Carolina Access Medicaid patients. In 2007 their scope expanded to include services for uninsured through HealthNet and will soon be expanding to Medicare recipients via a federal 646 waiver.   The network offers care management programs and processes to maximize access to health care and to improve its quality and cost-effectiveness for all populations served. Community Care of Western North Carolina provides care management services to Carolina Access patients (Medicaid) assigned by DMA to their participating primary care practices (PCP). They have approximately 31,000 Carolina Access patients.

Jason Simpkins– Senior Consultant and Implementation Specialist

Jason graduated from Bluefield State College in Bluefield, WV in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting and Management. Since then, Jason worked as an accountant for a CPA firm whose audits consisted primarily of nonprofit and government entities. He also served as a controller for a manufacturing/building company, managing the accounting department and being responsible for month end closing and financial statements for 14 separate companies. Today, Jason uses his nonprofit and accounting skills as an Implementation Specialist and Consultant for Abila MIP Fund Accounting and Blackbaud Financial Edge Services.
