Capital Business Solutions welcomes Connections for the Homeless, of Evanston, IL as a new Financial Edge NXT Client.
Working with Yotl Ramirez, Director of Finance and Administration and Mary Gau, Senior Accountant plus other staff, CBS will be helping implement the Financial Edge NXT software transitioning away from their legacy MIP Fund Accounting system. The Organization is moving to a 4 user system with modules including eLibrary, Accounts Receivable, Accounting Forms, Cash Receipts, Purchase Orders, Budget Management, Advanced Security, Cash Management, General Ledger, Project-Grant-Endowments and Accounts Payable.
Who is Connections for the Homeless?
Connections for the Homeless was founded in 1984, when a group of churches banded together to demand that the City of Evanston let them create a shelter for the homeless. Over the years, Connections has added programs that respond to the rising need for housing and supportive services in Evanston and throughout north suburban Cook County. They are now a multi-service agency that works with people at all points on the continuum of self-sufficiency.

Jason Simpkins – Senior Consultant and Implementation Specialist
Jason graduated from Bluefield State College in Bluefield, WV in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting and Management. Since then, Jason worked as an accountant for a CPA firm whose audits consisted primarily of nonprofit and government entities. He also served as a controller for a manufacturing/building company, managing the accounting department and being responsible for month end closing and financial statements for 14 separate companies. Today, Jason uses his nonprofit and accounting skills as an Implementation Specialist and Consultant for Abila MIP Fund Accounting and Blackbaud Financial Edge/NXT Services.
