Capital Business Solutions recently helped out the staff of Opportunities Industrialization Center in Rocky Mount, NC with their Abila MIP Fund Accounting (formerly Sage MIP) software.
Working with Jomerro MacMillan – Chief Finance Officer, Chayan Tiwari – Outgoing Controller and Joseph Maganga – Incoming Controller, Capital Business Solutions provided training services on General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Budget Manager, Forms Designer, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations and Fixed Assets modules. In addition to those modules CBS will also be conducting a follow up training session for DrillPoint Reports – an Excel Based Report Writing Software that integrates with Abila MIP Fund Accounting.

Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) was established in Rocky Mount, NC in 1969 to address high unemployment rates among historically African American and poor communities. Created at the height of the civil rights movement, OIC brought together industry and community to create win-win solutions for workplace success. Jason Simpkins– Senior Consultant and Implementation Specialist
Jason graduated from Bluefield State College in Bluefield, WV in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting and Management. Since then, Jason worked as an accountant for a CPA firm whose audits consisted primarily of nonprofit and government entities. He also served as a controller for a manufacturing/building company, managing the accounting department and being responsible for month end closing and financial statements for 14 separate companies. Today, Jason uses his nonprofit and accounting skills as an Implementation Specialist and Consultant for Abila MIP Fund Accounting and Blackbaud Financial Edge Services.
