You work hard to put together your nonprofit’s annual report. You gather all the data, make it easy to read and understand, and deliver it to your stakeholders. However, if your organization is like most, these annual reports are barely read.
How can you get your report read by more of your key stakeholders?
Create your report in formats that your donors are more likely to read!
By creating your report in different formats, you’re giving your donors the opportunity to read the information in the way that best fits their preferences.
Which formats do they want to view the information? One of the best ways to figure that out is to ask them. Create a survey that will allow you to get to know your donors better, with a question relating to how they want to read/view your organization’s annual report. Based on the answers, you’ll be able to give your donors and key stakeholders an annual report they will actually read.
What formats are available?
You could do something online, like:
- Infographic
- Video
- Microsite
Or something in print, like
- Brochure
- Traditional report
Either way, your donors are receiving a report that fits their reading preferences. When donors are more informed about how their money is being spent / contributing to your mission, they’re more likely to continue to invest. You’ll be able to improve donor retention and increase donor loyalty.
