Sage Helps Alleviate the PCI Compliance Burden for Larger Nonprofits
Sage North America today introduced new payment processing security enhancements for large nonprofits using Sage Millennium, its highly customizable, web-based constituent relationship management (CRM) software. Designed for diverse and complex fundraising programs, Sage Millennium version 7.9 includes a new, fully integrated Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant application from Sage Payment Solutions, Sage's payments division.
PCI compliance is a requirement for all entities-for-profits and nonprofits-collecting, transmitting, processing, or storing credit card data. PCI DSS (Data Security Standard) has been endorsed by all the major card brands, including Visa Inc., MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Network, American Express, and JCB. All organizations accepting credit or debit card payments should be validated PCI DSS compliant.
Sage Millennium version 7.9 achieves PCI compliance by shifting all credit card-related functionality from Sage Millennium to Sage Exchange, a fully integrated PCI compliant payment processing platform from Sage Payment Solutions. All credit card data entered into Sage Millennium will now be securely stored in Sage Exchange. Thousands of Sage customers, including Sage Millennium customers who also use Sage Payment Solutions for their credit card processing, are already using this method for storage.
"Nonprofits are experiencing increased scrutiny from oversight organizations, so it's more crucial than ever for our customers to maintain PCI compliant status," said Krista Endsley, senior vice president and general manager for Sage Nonprofit Solutions. "By using Sage Millennium with Sage Exchange, Sage manages critical payment data automatically, making it simple for both large and small organizations to feel confident in the safety of their data."
Sage Millennium version 7.9 users can also now set up a storage-only account for Sage Exchange. Customers of Sage Millennium who are not currently using Sage Payment Solutions for credit card processing may call 843-768-4901 for additional information or to sign up.
